Electronic Vehicle Charging Points

PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:-


(a) whether employees and workers of oil producing companies are adequately
compensated in the case of occurance of a natural disaster;
(b) if so, the details regarding the same; and
(c) whether the Government plans to install electronic vehicle charging points at all
petrol outlets of our country and if so, the details regarding the same?

(a) & (b). The employees of oil producing companies are covered by various
insurance policies or schemes depending upon the individual policies of the
companies and statutory requirements such as Workmen’s Compensation Act 1923.
The compensation under such policies/ insurance schemes may vary from
company to company depending upon nature of work, perceived risks in the area of
operations and location of operations.
(c) As per the resolution dated 08.11.2019 issued by Ministry of Petroleum and
Natural Gas regarding authorisation to market transportation fuel, the authorised
entities are required to install facilities for marketing at least one new generation
alternate fuels including electric vehicle charging points at their proposed retail outlets
(RO) within three years of operationalization of the said outlet subject to the entity
complying with various other statutory guidelines. As on 01.07.2021 the Oil Marketing
Companies (OMCs) have installed 418 vehicle charging stations and 41 Battery
Swapping Stations across the Country.
