AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE be pleased to state:-


(a) whether the amount provided to farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana is being recovered due to wrong information;

(b) if so, the number of farmers in Madhya Pradesh for whom orders have been issued for recovery of the said amount along with the details thereof;

(c) whether any direction is proposed to be issued by the Government to provide relief to such farmers;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the number of farmers who are not getting the amount provided under the said scheme even after fulfilling the eligibility criteria and the number of such farmers in Seoni and Balaghat districts under Balaghat Parliamentary Constituency along with the details thereof?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (e) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO.135 DUE FOR REPLY ON 07TH DECEMBER, 2021.

(a): Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojna (PM-KMY), a Central Sector Scheme is being implemented in order to provide social security net for the Small and Marginal Farmers (SMF) by way of pension, as they have minimal or no savings to sustain their livelihood and to support them in the event of consequent loss of livelihood. Under this scheme, the eligible small and marginal farmers get a minimum fixed pension of Rs. 3,000/- subject to certain exclusion criteria, on attaining the age of 60 years. The Scheme is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme, with entry age of 18 to 40 years. The eligible farmer may opt to become member of the Scheme by subscribing to a Pension Fund. The farmer is required to contribute Rs 100/ - per month at median entry age of 29 years. The Central Government also contributes to the Pension Fund in equal amount. The Contribution is made to a Pension Fund managed by the Life Insurance Corporation which is responsible for pension pay out.
Therefore, question to recover the amount provided to farmers due to wrong information does not rise.

(b) to (d): Does not arise in view of above.
(e): As PM-KMY Scheme is a voluntary and contributory pension Scheme, all the eligible farmers can get themselves registered under the Scheme. The number of farmers registered under the Scheme in Seoni and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh is 15,432 and 2,255 respectively.
