(a) The Ministry of Rural Development is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) with effect from 1st April, 2016 to provide assistance to eligible rural households. The identification and selection of beneficiaries under PMAY-G is not based on the concept of Below Poverty Line (BPL), but is rather based on the housing deprivation parameters and exclusion criteria prescribed under Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC), 2011 and new survey Awaas+ 2018 conducted to identify eligible households left out of SECC 2011. The total Central funds released by the Ministry under PMAY-G to the State of Maharashtra during each of the last three years is given as under:

(Rs. in crore)

2018-19 2019-20 2020-21

1135.53 1815.33 1310.10

(b) The number of people benefited (to whom houses have been sanctioned), under the said Scheme in the State of Maharashtra and in Shirdi Parliamentary Constituency in Ahmednagar District during each of the last three years is given as under:

(Houses sanctioned units in nos.)

State/District 2018-19 2019-20 2020-21

Maharashtra 79198 249297 296443

Shirdi Parliamentary Constituency

*six blocks (Akola, Sangmner, Shirdi (Rahata), Kopargoan, Shrirampur and Nevasa) of Ahmednagar District.

(c) The Ministry has allocated a total target of 15,05,983 households to the State of Maharashtra since 2016-17 till 2021-22. The State has sanctioned 9,88,698 houses to the beneficiaries. Thus, 5,17,285 houses remain to be sanctioned by the state to the beneficiaries. Ahmednagar District has been allocated a target of 66,028 houses by the state out of its overall allocation, out of which only 41,926 houses have been sanctioned to the beneficiaries and 32,656 houses stand completed.
