(a) to(c) The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change supports the States/Union Territories for carrying out afforestation activities in both forest and non-forest land including Urban and Rural areas under National Mission for a Green India (GIM) and CAMPA. Further, afforestation is being carried out by the States/Union Territories under various schemes of Central Government and State Government. As per report compiled in the Ministry under twenty-point programme, afforestation is being taken up annually over 2.0 million ha since 2019-20.Details of fund released/disbursedunder GIM and CAMPA including Haryanais enclosed at Annexure-I.
In addition, the Ministryhas also launchedNagar Van Yojana (NVY) for providing wholesome healthy living environment, and contributingto growth of Smart, Clean,Green, Sustainable and Healthy cities.NVY envisages developing 400 Nagar Vans and 200 Nagar Vatikas in the country during the period of 2020-21 to 2024-25 with an objective to significantly enhance the tree outside forests and green cover, enhancement of biodiversity and ecological benefits to the urban and peri-urban areas apart from improving quality of life of city dwellers. So far, a total of 65 projects have been sanctioned in 22 States including Haryana. The State-wise details of Nagar Van projects sanctioned under Nagar Van scheme are given in Annexure-II. *****
