(a) whether the transgenders in the country are facing lots of issues in the society;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken by the Government to avoid such incidents;
(c) the steps taken by the Government for the upliftment of transgenders and bring them to the mainstream of the society;
(d) whether the Government is providing any special schemes/loans for start up business by the transgenders; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (e): An Expert Committee was constituted in the Ministry to make in-depth study of the problems being faced by the Transgender Community and suggest suitable measures to ameliorate their conditions. The Committee submitted its report on 27th January, 2014. The Committee in its report has observed that the transgender community is a highly marginalized and vulnerable one and is seriously lagging behind on human development indices mainly in the area of education and employment.
In order to provide for protection of rights of transgender person and their welfare, the Ministry introduced a Bill titled “The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2016” in the Lok Sabha on 2.8.2016, the Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha on 17.12.2018. During the financial year 2018-19 the Ministry has released an amount of Rs. 1.00 Crore to National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC) for conducting skill development training for members of Transgender Community.
