Social activities.—Founded three High Schools; worked for the abolition of early marriages and sub-caste and caste systems; interested in labour organisation and educational pursuits; actively participated in Shramdan and Bhoodan movements and helped famine stricken people and flood victims.

Hobby.—Collection of books. 

Special interests.—Solution of agrarian problems, spread of secondary education, famale literacy, working for a classless and casteless society, welfare of landless workers and railwaymen, study of philosophy.

Sports and clubs.—Swimming, badminton and tennis; Member, Bapu Club, Darbhanga, Bihar.

Travels abroad.--Nepal, Burma, and East African Countries.
