AMRIT NAHATA, SHRI B.A., Janata, (Rajasthan— Pali—1977):  s. of Shri Kishan Raj Nahata; b. at Jodhpur, May 16, 1928; ed. at Jaswant College, Jodhpur; m. Smt. Raj Nahata, May 25, 1950; 2 s. and 1 d.; Teacher and Film Maker; previously associated with States' Peoples Conference, Communist Party of India and Indian National Congress; Member, (i) Fourth Lok Sabha, 1967—70 and (ii) Fifth Lok Sabha, 1971— 77; presently Member, Estimates Committee.

Social activities:  Indian Red Cross Society and Bharat Sewak Samaj.

Favourite pastime and recreation:  Reading and listening to music.

Special interests:  Film-script writing, song writing and direction.

Accomplishments in letters, art and science:  Directed and produced three films, last being 'KISSAA KURSEE KAA'.

Publications:  Translated a dozen books from English to Hindi; translated works of Gorky, Stalin, Lenin, Mao and Liu Shao Chi.

Travels abroad:  U.S.S.R., Finland, Sweden, Hungary, German Democratic Republic, Italy, France, Egypt etc.
