Institution, Gopalgange, Distt.  Faridpur, the Scottish  Churches Collegiate School, Calcutta, the St. Paul's Cathedral  Mission College, Calcutta,  Law College and Post Graduates  Deptt., Calcutta University, and the Honable  Society  of  Lincon's Inn, London; m. Shrimati  Beenapani  Devi,  September,  1934; 3  s.;  Advocate, High  Court,  Calcutta;  formerly  associated  with  Congress Party; elected  to  Bengal  Legislative Assembly  in 1937 and  1945 - 46; elected  Member  of  the Constituent  Assembly, 1946; again elected to West Bengal  Legislative  Assembly in 1957 and 1962; Minister of  State, Tribal Welfare Department, Government of  West Bengal, 1962 -63; resigned  from Assembly in 1964 and Congress  Party afterwards, and devoted himself to the social activities in  rural areas in the district of 24-Parganas, West Bengal; imprisoned under  D.I.R.  for  political activities in 1964; joined Bangla Congress in West Bengal in 1966.

Social activities:  Connected with various movements for the upliftment of depressed classes and other backward communities; founded the "Thakurnagar" Colony in 24-Parganas for Hindu refugees form East Pakistan; was President of the Bengal Relief Society; Member, Governing Body, Gobardanga Hindu College; Founder secretary, Thakurnagar H. S. School.

Hobbies:  Motor Cycling while a student in England, 192630; swimming in lakes and mountaineering while in Switzerland, 1927-28; horse-riding in early youth; practice of "Hatha Yoga."

Favourite pastime and recreation:  Visiting places of historical interests and holy pilgrimage; likes nature Seas and mountains.

Special interests:  Spread of education among children of backward classes in rural areas; village reorganisation and reconstruction.

Sports and clubs:  Football, cricket, hockey and tennis in school and college days; was member of swimming clubs while in Brighton in England.

Travels abroad:  France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Czechoslavakia, Greece, Turkey, Palestine, Syria, Leban'on and Egypt.
