Purulia; has worked for the social uplift of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes; also worked for the rehabilitation of displaced persons from Panchat Dam (D.V.C.); connected with a number of educational and welfare institutions in West Bengal.

Hobbies.—Shooting and big game hunting.
