Sabdalpur, Shodaspur, District Saharanpur, U.P.; October 1, 1912; ed. at (i) Primary School Sabdalpur, (ii) Kanshi Ram High School, Saharanpur, (iii) D.A.V. Intermediate College, Dehradun and (iv) Meerut College, Meerut; m. Smt. Kalawati, 1937; 1 s. and 2 d.; Agriculturist; associated with Congress 1931 to May, 1949 and with S.S.P. May, 1949 to 1969; participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement on behalf of S.S.P. in 1954, 1957, 1958 and again in 1962 and went to jail; rejoined Congress in 1970; Member, Zila Parishad, 1948-49; Chairman (Education) Zila Parishad, 1948-49; Member, U.P. Vidhan Sabha, 1967-68.

Social activities:  Worked in (i) Saini Sabha, Muzaffarpur city, District Saharanpur as Secretary, (ii) Arya Samaj and (iii) Naujawan Bharat Sabha.

Hobbies:  Reading newspapers and political discussions.

Special interests:  Agriculture; service of backward classes, Scheduled Castes and people of low income group.
