Reduction in Fertilizer Subsidy

CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:-



(a) whether the Government proposes to reduce the subsidy amount on fertilizers;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor; and

(d) the details of the subsidy amount paid during the last three years, State/UT-wise including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar?

(a) to (c): No Sir. There is no such proposal at present.

(d): The Government of India allocates funds Scheme-wise which are released through DBT system, on the basis of actual sales made through Point of Sales (PoS) devices installed at each retail shop, to the fertilizer companies. The details of subsidy amount paid during the last 3 years is placed at Annexure – I.
